Tetrahydroxydiboron (Bis‐boric Acid): a Versatile Reagent for Borylation, Hydrogenation, Catalysis, Radical Reactions and H2 Generation
نویسندگان
چکیده
Diboron compounds with a B−B bond, discovered B2Cl4 century ago, have been developed only since the turn of this for catalyzed borylation reactions, mostly well-know reagent bis(binacolato)diboron, (B2pin2). On other hand, chemistry tetrahydroxydiboron (THDB), also named bis-boric acid, is relatively underdeveloped. In review, properties THDB as borylation, reductant (including transfer hydrogenation), catalyst, source radicals and generator H2 from water upon hydrolysis are summarized.

متن کاملAdenosyl radical: reagent and catalyst in enzyme reactions.
Adenosine is undoubtedly an ancient biological molecule that is a component of many enzyme cofactors: ATP, FADH, NAD(P)H, and coenzyme A, to name but a few, and, of course, of RNA. Here we present an overview of the role of adenosine in its most reactive form: as an organic radical formed either by homolytic cleavage of adenosylcobalamin (coenzyme B(12), AdoCbl) or by single-electron reduction ...
متن کاملVersatile Catalytic Hydrogenation Using A Simple Tin(IV) Lewis Acid
Despite the rapid development of frustrated Lewis pair (FLP) chemistry over the last ten years, its application in catalytic hydrogenations remains dependent on a narrow family of structurally similar early main-group Lewis acids (LAs), inevitably placing limitations on reactivity, sensitivity and substrate scope. Herein we describe the FLP-mediated H2 activation and catalytic hydrogenation act...
متن کاملMechanism Discrimination for Bimolecular Reactions: Revisited with a Practical Hydrogenation Case Study
The governing mechanism of surface reactions is a fundamental concern in heterogeneous catalysis. The Langmuir–Hinshelwood (LH) mechanism is widely accepted to control the surface reactions in many catalytic systems. This contribution derives and compares several important surface rate equations to evaluate their quality of fitting to the experimental data collected for a vapor-phase hydrogenat...
